Day's Summary: SUMMARY
|
Arches National Park: Delicate Arch Parking Lot The parking lot for Delicate Arch was packed! Make sure if you want to hike it to get there early in order to avoid the crowds. It's a somewhat strenuous (at times) 1.5 mile hike one-way, 3 miles round trip. |
Arches National Park: Hiking To Delicate Arch Hiking up the slickrock, the hardest part of the hike. At 0:30, I zoom to the parking lot. |
Arches National Park: Hiking To Delicate Arch Nearing Delicate Arch. |
Arches National Park: Delicate Arch The next six videos including this one are at Delicate Arch. This shows an overview of the Arch that's surrounding a bowl-like area in the middle. You could slide right in if you weren't careful. I give a 360 degree panorama of the location. |
Arches National Park: Delicate Arch Another view of the Arch. It was at the end of this video that my batteries ran out. I tried to change them, and I dropped one. It rolled down into the bowl. The last video of these six videos show me retrieving the battery after backtracking and hiking to the bowl, since you couldn't really "slide down" from the top without hurting yourself. I didn't really expect to find the battery, but for the sake of Arches National Park, I tried and succeeded! |
Arches National Park: Delicate Arch Close Up Getting up close and personal. |
Arches National Park: Delicate Arch Close Up I pan 180 degrees or so. Note the size of the people in comparison to the size of the Arch. |
Arches National Park: Delicate Arch Close Up Under the Arch. It's not good manners to stay there too long, as other people want to take pictures without individuals obstructing or ruining their shots. I didn't stay under the Arch very long. |
Arches National Park: Delicate Arch From Below I describe finding the battery that I dropped from above. The "inside-the-bowl" part is unique in that few people actually manage to hike there. There are indeed people on the top although it's hard to see them from this vantage point (if you can see them at all). |
Arches National Park: Hiking Back From Delicate Arch Hiking down the slickrock. Cairn at 1:10. |
Arches National Park: Panorama Point I mention the La Sal Mountains at 0:05 and the Parade of Elephants at 0:11. Hoodoos at 0:30. |
Arches National Park: Windows Area Near Double Arch The Windows Area contains Double Arch, North Window, South Window, and Turret Arch. |
Arches National Park: Double Arch Very short, easy hike to the Double Arch formation. I mention the movie Contact and that the arches look like the rings. I zoom into the Windows area at 0:55, and I believe that's the North Window. |
Arches National Park: Balanced Rock Very cool rock formation. I pan 360 degrees. |
