These recommendations are specifically for the Bright Angel Trail, as it does have treated water available along its length. For backcountry hikes, you'd need to be even more careful. One recommended item that I didn't include is water treatment pills. Since there are several treated water sources available, it would usually be okay. However, that's not guaranteed. That's one thing I should bring that I didn't. Next time, I likely will.

~15:00 - Sunscreen: face/arms and replenish often (SPF 30-50)
~16:30 - Uphill is hiked when you're tired
~17:00 - Hiking hours, shade, breaks
~18:00 - Lights give you security, 2010 reflection
~19:00 - Peace of mind...but a heavy backpack
~19:45 - Don't attempt a long hike if you've never hiked in the Grand Canyon!
