Day 3 (Sun Jun 10): Grand Canyon National Park

Day's Summary: The day of the big hike. Essentially, we took the earliest "Hikers' Express" shuttle we could (4AM) from the Bright Angel Lodge to the South Kaibab Trailhead. We were probably to the trailhead at around 4:30-4:45. We got down to the Colorado River fairly quickly (~9AM), but there was a lot of resting (mostly due to me) as we ascended. We ended up finishing near 8PM.

My biggest injuries were a black/blue toenail, very dry eyes, and aches & pains. Pretty good, considering the length of the hike (~16 miles down South Kaibab and up Bright Angel).
